Welcome to Contribute2

Contribute2 is a social network of individuals that have found their bikes and are riding them as fast and as far as they can.

Your bike is your voice. Your talent. Your gift. Your special thing that you do that enhances your sphere of influence and contributes to the world.

Your bike is as unique and as special as you are because it evolves and grows as you do.

When you first rode a bicycle, you made the connection between pushing harder on the crank arm to make another, more powerful revolution of the pedals to travel faster and father. Think of all of the feelings that you had at that time: freedom, power, accomplishment, confidence and more- the possibilities of feeling that way are not gone because when you discover your bike, take care of it and ride it to someone else you feel those beautiful feeling all over again and more.

Welcome to Contribute2, my name is David Sylvester and my bike is my bike, my smile, my hugs, my stories and my heart.

Tell me about about you bike.

Decide to set a goal

Deciding to set a goal maybe the most important step on the way to change in your world. Everything in the world started with a decision. the decision to create, be , do , or have something. The origin of the word decision meens to cut away. Making a real decision meens to cut away all other posibilities. So there is no try there is only in decision, only do or die, create or disinigrate.

look at the definition of a goal:

A GOAL IS A CLEARLY SPECIFIED DESIRE THAT DEMANDS… Continue

We need more people willing to change the world

When I met David back in early july I was truly inspired to change the world I live in. To take responsability for what Im creating and inspire others to do the same. David, I don't see you as just riding across the states I see you as a man on a mission the change the attitudes of the people around you and inspire them to do the same in effect changing the world one person at a time.

Is there any other way?

Feeling confident.

One thing that this trip is doing for me is bolstering my confidence as a speaker. I have gone into some rooms within the last 2 weeks where I was intimidated and kind of lost as to how or what I could say to reach the individuals there.

The first time was at Penelope House, the home for battered women, in Mobile. I spent 2 days hearing depraved story after depraved story.

Stories of being was kept in a closet.

Being pistol whipped.

Being… Continue

i made the cover !!

Thanks to a friend, Z Walker, I was greeted at and across the border of Galveston Texas- the Galveston Causeway by the police.

Now on other tours there have been escorts but they were organized by some other group and I was just a mere part of a bigger ceremony, not the focal point- so that made this very special. It was also special because the Causeway is normally closed to all bicyclists- punishable by arrest- and I was the 1st ever to ride across the Causeway,… Continue

Visions and Goals

Based on the positive responses to my February 1, 2008 ESPN article about riding a bicycle across North America, Africa and Asia- I WILL ride my bike 4,000+ miles along a 15 state route across the nation, for the second time, to start a 'revolution'.

‘Revolution’ is a metaphor for developing agents of social change as well as describing the movement of pedaling a bicycle. through my rides,I HAVE touched a strong chord in people’s hearts and minds and THIS RIDE WILL continue to stir those emotions.

Each week WE WILL stop and volunteer at a different charitable organization.- see full list on the events page

Daily, I WILL ride from Barack Obama supporter to Barack Obama supporter across this great nation.

I WILL raise money to award bicycles to children and adults who email me their personal stories of exemplary community service! The goal by September is 10 bikes.

YOU WILL share your stories here- share your stories of sharing your talents, gifts and time.

I WILL hug, high five, shake hands, motivate, inspire and ride with as many people as I can across North America just as I did once before and in Africa and Asia.

I WILL my engage people with my accumulated stories of world travel and combine them with yours and WE WILL discover new ways to motivate individulas to get involved in their communities and ways to form new communities.

WE WILL assist people to evolve into more capable, confident and happier individuals.

This powerful model of bicycling and volunteering WILL be taken to other countries and continents of the globe: Australia in 2009, South America in 2010 and Europe in 2011.

I WILL cover my bike frame with pictures of people I encounter along the way. MY BIKE WILL BECOME an empowering and moving symbol of a vibrant community! see my pictures.

THIS RIDE WILL continue to raise funds for the Kevin L. Bowser Memorial Scholarship.

WE WILL SEE MORE.
WE WILL BE MORE.
WE WILL CONTRIBUTE2 SOMETHING!
